Please Check Out My Podcast! Puh-Leeze? C'mon! Whine...

Hi there, you podcast loving freaks! It's Steve in Denver, Colorado and I am starting this blog to get you all to please listen to my podcast. I have been getting lost in the shuffle, podcast-wise. Would you puh-leeze give a couple episodes a listen? I have one friend here in Denver who is my only known regular listener. I have been doing this show for several months now, and I enjoy the Society Of Audio Addicts site a lot. I have heard a few of your podcasts using the links, what I hear, I really like!

What is the Weird Wild Audio From Hell podcast about?

Okay, I was trying to be somewhat original with my podcast concept, but I do have to credit Dr. Demento and WFMU's 'On The Download' as two major sources of inspiration.
The great thing about doing this podcast is that I can play whatever the hell I want, uncensored. Of course, being a podcasting fan you already know that...duh!

I always put a disclaimer at the opening of every episode that has 'adult content' so somebody's mother or dad won't chew me a new asshole for not warning little Johnny or Jane that 'there be naughty things to come' in a particular episode.

More than half the time, I play 'g' or 'pg' content anyway, so it's not a big deal.

I play all sorts of odd, weird, wild crapola that I have come across in my own personal CD collection, friends CD collections or find online as a free public domain download. New Jersey's WFMU radio online is a wonderful resource for that sort of thing. A lot of this stuff is from garage sales, thrift stores, yard sales, basements, attics, etc. I love it! The weirder and more bizarre, kitschy, campy, cheesy and lame, the better!

I know there have got to be others out there who dig these unusual and often freaky sounds as much as I do, otherwise there wouldn't be so much of it available.
For example, I have featured corporate motivational records from the 1960's and 70's (there were a ton of these), Advertising handout promotional records, wanna-be recording stars' demo tapes, Home tape recordings, garage band recordings--literally done in a garage or basement, audio letters, movie soundtracks from obscure old movies, comedy, funny songs--either intentionally funny or otherwise, holiday recordings, bad lounge acts, bad comedians, psychedelic audio, animated cartoon audio from records, speeches, children's music, preachers, radio station audio, TV audio, Gay themed comedy, junior high and high school band records,
anti-drug and alcohol audio, sex ed. audio, sexually explicit audio, etc.

I upgraded my microphone a few episodes ago to a Samson mic made especially for podcasting, with a USB plug, so you can plug it into the computer's USB port and start recording. It's the best investment for this show I have made. My other mic was a cheap crappy 'Radio Shack special' that SUCKS. A good mic makes a world of difference!
